The Amazon Store provides awesome streaming apps, but they often come with expensive renewals. CyberFlix TV is an excellent alternative here – it gives users access to many movies and TV shows in HD for free and without ads, making it popular among cord-cutters.Â
But as you would expect, CyberFlix can only be installed on a jailbroken Firestick through sideloading. This Cyberflix TV download guide will show you how to install the app using both Downloader and File Explorer. We’ll also show you how to stream content while keeping your online privacy safe and protected using the best VPN – ExpressVPN.
CyberFlix TV download is possible using several means, but the easiest way is using the Downloader app.
Downloader is a download manager that allows users to both download and install other apps. It is available on the Amazon Store, and you can follow the procedure below to start using it.
Before we can start using Downloader to install CyberFlix, there are a few things we need to do first. Note that these procedures only need to be done once (on the first use only).
Like any other device, Firestick requires you to adjust a few settings before installing apps that are not available in the official store. You can do that in a few steps.
To allow third-party apps, the permission you need to give is labeled “apps from unknown sources.”
As for Firestick Lite and Firestick Gen 3, clicking the option will give you a list of apps. Choose Downloader from the list and click OK on the remote to turn the state to On.
You have now configured Firestick to install third-party apps through Downloader. But before you install the app, we advise that you first disable data-sharing to prevent Big Brother from spying on you.
By default, Amazon collects data on the apps you use and how you use them. If this sounds invasive to you (and it should), you can disable data-sharing and enhance your privacy.
To do so:
Now that everything is set, we can go ahead and install CyberFlix TV.
You have successfully installed CyberFlix on Firestick!
Next, we’ll show you how to use the CyberFlix app on Firestick, but if you prefer using ES Explorer, below is the procedure you can follow.
File Explorer is a utility app that provides lots of functionalities, and one of these is sideloading apps. The CyberFlix TV download process is quite similar to using Downloader.
This app is available on the Amazon Store, so you can install it within a few minutes using the procedure we used for Downloader. Go to Find > Search > File Explorer > Install.
To enable unknown sources and disable data-sharing, use the procedure we provided above in “Step 2: Prep Your Firestick.”Â
Now, open File Explorer and give the app permission to access your file storage system. From there:
You have now installed CyberFlix TV. File Explorer won’t give you the option to delete the Cyberflix apk file, but you can do so by going to the Downloads section using the app.
CyberFlix TV comes with an inbuilt player, but the best player to use with the app is MX Player. The player will give you more configuration options and help reduce buffering for a smooth streaming experience.
CyberFlix allows you to select MX Player when you first start the app, but if you haven’t installed it, you will get an error when you start playing a video.
Here’s how to install MX Player on Firestick.
Downloader will now give you an option to delete the APK file and save space. Click Delete and then Delete again to confirm.
Now that you have installed both CyberFlix and MX Player, you can go to Apps & Channels then open CyberFlix.
On the first launch, the app will ask you to select a player. Click on MX Player.
You can then grant the app the requested permissions and click OK on the changelog notice.
Here’s how the CyberFlix TV main page looks like.
You can sort the titles using the filters provided on the upper side of the app.
To switch between Movies and TV Shows, open the hamburger menu option on the top left side, and you’ll see the options.
You can also access the following using the menu option:
The CyberFlix settings provide several useful options:
These are among 10+ other customization options.Â
After tailoring the app, you can open a title you’d like. CyberFlix TV will give you an overview of the title, and you can also play the trailer. To play the title, click the play button on the top right side.
CyberFlix will now start looking for streaming links, and you can select the one you like. For the best streaming experience, you can consider 1080p sources that are small in size (less than 5 GB). Alternatively, if you’d like a bigger file size, but your network is not strong enough, you can use the CyberFlix TV download feature.
When you select a link, you can then choose Play or Play with Subtitles. For the latter, you can select a subtitle file.
Your title will then start playing!
However, you will need to ensure that you are streaming anonymously.
The team behind CyberFlix states that “the app crawls for links from numerous sites. We have no control over the content, nor do we own any of the content.”
This means that the links provided by CyberFlix are not vetted, and some of them may even provide access to pirated content. Such content can easily land you in trouble as ISPs and governments monitor the content people access. Further, copyright trolls usually track illegal files to see users who are accessing them. They then send DMCA notices to ISPs, who then forward them to users.
A VPN helps prevent any of these by encrypting your activities such that your ISP and government can’t tell what you are doing online. It also changes your IP address to ensure nobody can trace your activities back to you.
That said, you will need to choose your VPN carefully as most of them are not suitable for streaming. The VPN we recommend for Firestick is ExpressVPN, as it provides excellent speeds, great features, and top-notch privacy and security levels. It also comes with an awesome app for Firestick, so it’s easy to get started.
To start using the VPN, you will first need to create an account. This will only take you a few minutes.Â
After creating an ExpressVPN account, you can go ahead and install the app. The process should only take you a minute as it is available in the official store.Â
A Download option will now appear. Click it, and the app will install.
The ExpressVPN app should now be available in the Apps & Games section. Go ahead and open it.
From there:
Besides the Smart Location, you can also select your own server. ExpressVPN provides 94 countries and 160 locations, and they are all accessible within the Firestick app.
CyberFlix TV is a must-have app if you are a cord-cutter or looking for third-party/free streaming apps. The app provides lots of movies and TV shows that are frequently updated, and each title comes with multiple HD streaming links. You can check out CyberFlix using the guide above and stream in privacy and safety with ExpressVPN.
CyberFlix is more like the Cinema HD Firestick app than Spectrum TV. The latter offers live TV, but the former two offer movies and TV shows. CyberFlix and Cinema HD are similar in their interface, functionality, and what they offer, and none is significantly better than the other. When it comes to free streaming apps, the more you have, the better. You can always switch between them whenever you feel that one is not giving you the optimum streaming experience.
The CyberFlix Firestick app lies in a legal grey area. The app itself does not host the content it provides, and it simply scrapes for links from publicly available websites. However, some of these links may not be legal. As a rule of thumb, only use free streaming apps when you are connected to a reliable streaming VPN such as ExpressVPN. This will protect you from any legal liabilities by ensuring that you remain private and anonymous.
CyberFlix majors on movies and TV shows, and you can find anything from 1920’s classics to the latest episodes. The app allows you to filter the titles according to various categories and years, and you can also use the search option to access hidden gems easily.
If CyberFlix isn’t working for you, you can try updating the app as you may be using an outdated version. Other than that, clear your memory cache, uninstall and re-install the app, or restart your Firestick. In case the app has been shut down, you can use alternatives such as the Cinema HD Firestick app.
