GSE Smart IPTV player is an Android-based app that allows users to import their favorite channels from multiple IPTV services. However, contrary to popular belief, it is not an IPTV service provider. In essence, GSE Smart is an IPTV player which can play from both local device sources and online. It is compatible with most IPTV subscriptions if the provider supports the Xtream Codes API or EPG Guides.Â
Without further ado, let’s get the app installed on your Fire TV devices.
GSE Smart IPTV is available on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store. However, the app is not yet officially available on the Amazon Store. So, to install it on Amazon devices such as Firestick, we need to sideload the app using Downloader.
For installation, you need to follow the exact steps mentioned below.
Step 1:Â First, install the Downloader app to install the GSE Smart IPTV.Â
Step 2: Click Home on your remote to open Firestick home screen, select the Find tab, choose the Search option.
Step 3: Look for the Downloader app and install it.Â
Step 4: After installation of the downloader app, go to Settings on the home screen. It should be on the right side of the screen.Â
Step 5: Under the Settings menu, you’ll find several choices. Browse to the My Fire TV icon.
Step 6: On the next window, among the options listed, select the item Developer Options.
Step 7:Â Choose Install Unknown Apps.
Step 8: The window displays applications that you haven’t downloaded from official sources. Select the Downloader app and enable it.
With that, your device is ready to install third-party applications. Now, we can install GSE Smart IPTV. And to begin with, you have to open the Downloader app.Â
Step 9: On the app home screen, you should see the URL textbox. Click on it, and using the on-screen keyboard, type the following:
https://www.gsesmartiptv.com
Also, if you want to use a shortened version of the URL, enter “gsesmartiptv.com.”
Step 10: Once you’re done typing, hit GO.
The Downloader app will then redirect you to a webpage via a browser window. Scroll down the page. After that, choose the tab Download for Amazon Devices. It connects the Downloader app to the file location and starts downloading GSE Smart APK on the device.
Step 11: A window will pop up after downloading the APK. Click on INSTALL and allow a few minutes for the procedure to get done.
Step 12: Once the installation is over, you will see another prompt telling the completion of the process. Hit DONE.
If you have more than 20 apps installed on your Firestick, you might not necessarily find the GSE Smart IPTV icon on the home screen. In case you’re worried about the ways to access the app, follow the steps below.Â
On the Firestick home screen, navigate to the Settings option. From there, go to Applications and then Manage Applications. From the list of apps, locate GSE Smart TV and launch the app.Â
OR
On the Firestick remote, press the Home button for about 5 seconds. When the prompt window is displayed, click on the Apps icon.Â
Scroll down to find the newly installed GSE Smart IPTV app and select it.
For quicker access, you can also move the app and add it to your home screen.Â
You will need to press the 3-line menu key on the remote, and on the prompt window, hit on Move. Now, drag the app icon from the bottom to the first row.
Since GSE Smart IPTV has installed already on the device, let’s get you to familiarize yourself with the interface now.
When you run the app the first time, a prompt window asking for permission will appear. Proceed by tapping OK.Â
Another pop-up window will appear at the bottom of the screen. Select Allow.
Then, another EULA prompt and some more disclaimers will show up. Press AGREE to continue.
You’ll arrive at the home screen of the GSE Smart app. On the left column, you will see several items under the head LOCAL, REMOTE and EPG.
First, under the LOCAL tab, you’ll find the following options:
Second, under the REMOTE tab, you’ll see the following choices.
This feature allows you to import M3U or JSON playlists from the internet. Most IPTV service providers support playlists and also offer M3U link options.Â
So, if you have an IPTV subscription, all you have to do is input a playlist URL, and you’re ready to go.Â
Step 1: Choose Remote Playlists and on the next screen, click on the “+” button on the top.
Step 2: When a window prompts up, pick one of the following options: Add M3U URL or ADD JSON URL.
Step 3: Type in the details and hit on the Add button.
You’re probably aware of how lengthy playlist URLs can be. When it comes to typing them out on the remote, they’re a pain.Â
As a result, another possible alternative is to use the Xtream-Codes API.Â
The process is almost the same as the last one. From the left column of the screen, choose Xtreme-Codes API. Select the “+” icon at the top once again.Â
When the popup shows, enter the required details and continue by tapping Add.Â
The third choice on the left menu is the EPG (XMLTV Format). Using this, you can import EPG from either a URL or the local storage.
In case you’re wondering if your IPTV service provider supports EPG, then you shouldn’t worry. Most providers that support playlist options also happen to support EPF links.
The procedure to go about this is simple and the same as the ones before. Select the EPG Program Guide and on the next screen, tap the “+” icon on top.
Depending on your preference, you can pick Add Local EPG Source/ Add Remote EPG source.
Being a media-paying app in its purest form, GSE Smart IPTV has an in-built player that can play most content smoothly.Â
However, for better functionality and playback experience, users can also add external players like MX Player. To enable the option, check out the following steps.
Step 1: On the left menu, under the GENERAL section, locate the External Player tab.Â
Step 2: Click on it, and you shall see a new window with nothing but a “+” icon at the top. Choose this icon.
Step 3: On the popup, select the Find icon.
Step 4: You will now see a list of all installed media players on the device. Pick the one you wish to run and hit Add on the popup.
After everything is said and done, you’re now ready to stream content via the app.
However, let me warn you that streaming content online is fraught with risks and security concerns.
Content streamed online is visible to ISPs and Government surveillance agencies. And while streaming content is not inherently illegal, streaming something that is illegal and infringes copyright claims may get streamers in trouble.Â
The incapability of media players and IPTVs to distinguish between what is legal and what is illegal aggravates this issue. So, even if users end up streaming something illegal, deliberately or otherwise, it can land them in legal trouble.
The best and perhaps the only foolproof solution to avoid this issue is to utilize a reliable VPN service. VPNs mask the original IP address of users and help circumnavigate surveillance and Government throttling.
We recommend using ExpressVPN for the best streaming experience. It is fast and safe and offers a 30-days trial period for new users.Â
Before streaming on your Firestick, here’s how to integrate ExpressVPN to keep your streaming history concealed.
Step 1: You need a subscription to make use of ExpressVPN services. You can ask for a refund in case you’re not satisfied with their services. This is only applicable for the first 30 days.
Step 2: Switch ON your Firestick, and from the home screen, navigate to Find>Search.
Step 3: On the search bar, browse for ExpressVPN and choose it.
Step 4: Click on the Download tab to Install it on our device.Â
Step 5: Once installed, launch the app and input your credentials. You must, once again, have a subscription to do this.
Step 6: To connect to a VPN server, tap on the Power icon on the home screen. With that, you can start streaming freely.
GSE is just one of the best cord-cutting solutions. It provides so many benefits and features to users that it is quite hard to list them all.
In any case, here are some of its defining features:
This installation guide is only for Amazon Firestick/Firestick 4K/Firestick Lite/ Fire TV Cube devices. And if you want to utilize this app on another device and are not sure about the installation procedure, don’t worry, we’ve got your back.Â
Furthermore, the GSE Smart IPTV interface is nearly identical across all devices, so there isn’t much to learn there. As for installing it on other devices, such as Android and iOS, the steps are simple and easy because it is available on the official Apple/Google Store.
Step 1: Open the Google Play/ Apple Store on your Firestick device.
Step 2: Search for GSE Smart IPTV and install it. Follow the on-screen commands, and that should do.
There is no doubt that many new apps are launched day in, day out. But if there’s one great IPTV player that cord-cutters must try at least once, it’s the GSE Smart IPTV.Â
With a plethora of features and services that are mostly free, the IPTV player app is simple and easy to use. It also has a paid version with which you can even unlock additional features.
But the free version in itself is so great that it’s highly improbable you’d care for the paid version. With that said, we suggest you try it out first and see for yourself!
