Introduction: Install Kodi Addon on Firestick

Kodi allows you to stream from multiple sources, but most of the streaming enthusiasts go for the addons. Though Kodi offers loads of official addons, some people still prefer third-party addons to get the most out of the streaming opportunities. That being said, the official Kodi addons are more reliable and consistent when compared to the third-party ones that keep on coming and going over time.

If you’re new to Kodi, we’ll help you connect to the streaming sources using addons. With these addons, you’ll be able to get all your favorite shows and channels in one place. In this post, we have jotted down steps to install Kodi addons from the official as well as the third-party repositories.

Things to Consider Before Installing Kodi Addons

Kodi allows you to install official addons easily. If you haven’t yet installed Kodi, you can read our guide on how to install Kodi on Firestick. The app has a security setting that doesn’t allow you to install the apps from third-party apps. Since most of the Kodi addons are from the third-party repository, you need to change a few settings first to install these addons. Following are the steps:

Step 1: Open the Kodi app and select the Settings option on the Home screen.

Step 2: Click System.Kodi System option in settings

Step 3: Go to Add-ons on the menu on the left.Kodi on the Add-ons menu

Step 4: Enable Unknown sources.Under Settings/System category, choosing Add-ons shows Unknown sources with an on-off slider button

Step 5: A prompt will appear for confirmation, tap on Yes.Kodi addon prompt to enabled Unknown Sources

After you’ve completed these steps, the Kodi app is ready to download any addons from the third-party repository.

Don’t Forget to Switch on your VPN!

Before you start using the Kodi addons (whether official or through third-party apps), we recommend using the best VPN for Kodi. Because whatever content you stream on Kodi can be tracked by the Government or your ISP. So, if you’re streaming any copyrighted content such as movies, TV shows, sports channels, or others, you can get into trouble.

However, using a VPN when streaming with Kodi addons will hide your identity. This way, you can bypass the geological restrictions, and your server will think that you’re located somewhere else where it is legal to stream the content.

We always use ExpressVPN for streaming content on Firestick. ExpressVPN is secure, fast, and allows you to stream on numerous devices and apps. If you’re about to stream on your Kodi app, follow these simple steps to turn on the best VPN to protect your Firestick:

  1. Subscribe to ExpressVPN. The subscription comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee too. So, if you aren’t satisfied with the service, you can get a refund.ExpressVPN Login INterface
