MX Player, just like any other media player, plays music files and videos. However, unlike some apps like VLC, the application is commonly used as a media playback for various 3rd-party apps for streaming purposes.
Some streaming apps might not work if you don’t have MX Player installed on your Firestick. Some of these apps also urge having MX Player to offer a seamless watch experience.
Follow this installation guide to learn how you can install MX Player on Amazon Fire TV devices.
In this section, we will show you how you can easily install MX Player without going in blindly and having to fix your mistakes afterwards. The instructions provided here are not only applicable to Firestick; you can also use the same for other Amazon Fire TV devices such as Fire TV Cube, Firestick 4K, and Firestick Lite.
Since it’s a third-party application, it won’t be available in the official Amazon Appstore. In this case, we will have to sideload the app.
We’ll be using Downloader, the primary method, for installing MX Player within your Firestick. It is easy to use and the most straightforward sideloading tool.
There are alternate methods available, which you can use just in case Downloader does not work for you (which is highly unlikely).
We will discuss ES File Explorer app as an alternative method. But, we won’t recommend that because you’ll have to pay $9.99 to use the sideloading feature of this app.
Before starting anything, make sure that you have the Downloader app.
To do so, follow the instructions below.
Step 1: Head over to your home section on the Firestick.
Step 2: Choose Find, then click on Search.
Step 3: Type Downloader in the search bar.
Once you see the Downloader app in your search section, tap on it.
Step 4: Under the Apps & Games head, select the Downloader app.
Step 5: Pick Get or Download depending on the option you get. The app will start installing.
Step 6: When you’re done installing the app, you can go back to the home menu.
After installing the Downloader app, you’ll have to enable the security option Apps from Unknown Sources. Follow the steps below to turn it on.
Step 7: Choose Settings, the gear icon, on the home section.
Step 8: Hit on the My Fire TV tab.
Step 9: Next, you’ll have to open Developer Options.
Step 10: In the next window, click on the Install unknown apps.
Step 11: Search for the Downloader app and turn it on.
After giving access, you can now download MX Player through the application.
Step 12: Launch the app from your home screen.
You’ll get some prompts when you start using the app for the first time. Go ahead and dismiss them by choosing a suitable option.
Step 13: There will be a URL search field on the right section. Select the search box and enter
https://vpnch.ec/k/mx-player
Now hit Go.
Step 14: The application will start downloading.
Step 15: You will automatically get a pop-up to install the app when the download gets finished.
Pick the INSTALL option. It might take a few minutes for installation.
Step 16: When the installation is over, you’ll have two options.
Select OPEN if you want to use the app instantly. Or choose DONE if you’re going to use the app later.
When you click on Done, you’ll have a choice to delete the APK. Selecting Delete will help you save some storage space.
If you can’t access Downloader in your region, or it doesn’t work for some reason, you can use ES File Explorer File Manager to sideload MX Player on Firestick. Follow the steps below.
Step 1: Go to the home menu on your Firestick.
Step 2: Click on Find > Search.
Step 3: Type ES File Explorer in the search box.
Select the app when it appears in your search area.
Step 4: In the Apps & Games section, choose the Es File Explorer icon.
Step 5: Tap on Download or Get. The app will start installing.
The estimated time will vary based on the speed of your internet connection.
Step 6: When the installation gets over, click on Open to launch the app.
Step 7: Before running the app, ensure that the Install from Unknown Sources option is turned on. If it’s not enabled, follow the steps.
Using this Firestick application, you can now download the app without any worries.
Step 8: Launch the application and then navigate to the right section of the window.
Step 9: Find the Downloader icon and click on it.
Step 10: Now select +New. You’ll find it in the bottom menu bar.
Step 11: You will now see a path field.
Go ahead and use the URL given below to download MX Player
https://vpnch.ec/k/mx-player
You can use “MX” to name the source. If you wish to use any other name, you’re free to do so.
Step 12: Choose DOWNLOAD NOW.
The ETA depends on the speed of your internet connection.
Step 13: Pick the option OPEN FILE when the download finishes.
Step 14: Select INSTALL then Install again when prompted.
You will receive a notification when the app is installed.
